Sheldon Leonard was the legendary executive producer and co-creator of The Andy Griffith Show. Before becoming a powerhouse television mogul responsible for hits like The Dick Van Dyke Show and I Spy, he spent decades working as an actor typecast as a fast-talking New York gangster or tough guy.

His most iconic film role was playing Nick the tough-talking bartender in Frank Capra's 1946 classic It's a Wonderful Life. In the alternate "Pottersville" reality of that film, Nick takes over the bar and famously barks, "We serve hard drinks in here for men who want to get drunk fast!"

In The Andy Griffith Show Season 4 episode "Briscoe Declares for Aunt Bee" (which aired in 1963), the mountain man Briscoe Darling kidnaps Aunt Bee to force her into marriage. When Andy Taylor goes looking for them, he stops at a roadside diner named "Nick's Cafe" to ask for directions.

the upcoming concert instead of Barney. When Gomer realizes how important the
